My Biography

I started playing guitar after I joined the Air Force 1987. While living in the dorm, I heard the music of Jimi Hendrix coming from across the hall. Within a week, I was inspired and playing guitar along with my first Hendrix cassette tape. In the following years, Metallica, Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Satriani and Steve Vai would influence my playing. I spent the next 25 years learning many styles of music and having jam sessions with bands as I moved around the world with my career.

My final Air Force move brought me to Dayton in 2006 and I formed a band called "One Night Stand" and played a few small shows around town. After this project I joined Jeffrey Porter and his band Nasty Weather. After Nasty Weather went their separate ways, I formed the band Stuck in Gear. Looking for more opportunities, my wife Regina encouraged me to pick of the acoustic guitar and take on a solo project. In 2012 Mark Gearo's Acoustic Expressions was born.

I'm currently following my love of music and building my brand exploring all styles of music including classic tunes from the 1950's to current hits. In one night I play number one hits from the past six decades including classic and modern rock, rhythm and blues, country, gospel and soul. Every show provides entertainment for everyone in a family friendly way.

I hope to play for you very soon...

Peace and good happiness
